Easter Treats For Your Table
As the crocus and tulips push their way up through the ground, we are reminded of the resurrection that Easter represents. Spring, in itself, is a time to celebrate, especially if you live in one of the colder climes. If you are hosting Easter dinner this year, try these simple ideas to help revive spirits after a long winter.

These glass eggcups work well as votive candleholders. Use them as an understated table decoration or line them up along a mantle or shelf. The eggcups were $1 each and the 3-D votive candles come in packages of three for $1 but plain white votives would work, as well and they come in packages of 16 for a buck.

Bright paper napkins help you to set a springtime mood at the table. You can generally find well-made napkins in packages of 15 for $1. We lucked out and came away with 50 2-ply Easter napkins for the same money.
The napkin rings are simplicity itself. Use any pastel colored craft ribbon, cut in lengths of about 6 ˝ “. Ribbon that is about 1” wide seems to work well. Hot glue the ribbon in a circle and then glue on a coordinating spring accent like these daisies. You could use butterflies, ladybugs, anything spring-like. These daisies came on a card of 30 for $1. A 6.7’ roll of craft ribbon is only a buck and we made ten napkin rings with it.
These little guys could chase away anyone’s winter blahs. They came in a package of five for $1. Fill these plastic eggs with foil-wrapped goodies and put one at each place setting as a take home treat. If you want, give your egg-shaped ambassadors a toothpick banner wishing your guests Happy Easter. If you prefer, use the banner to put the name of each guest on to use as place cards. To make the Easter banner, simply print your greeting as though you were printing address labels but print on a plain sheet of paper. Cut a notch out of the end of each banner, glue it to a toothpick and fasten it to the egg/chick. A small amount of stick-tac works well to hold the toothpick to the plastic egg without being too noticeable.
